Be curious, not judgmental – Walt Whitman
Curiosity has been a motivating force for Brian since childhood. From dismantling a Total Control Racing car at the age of 7, to carefully watching his grandfather operate an excavator in a small town in Iowa, to making thousands of sandwiches at Subway during his college years, he has always been intrigued by how things work and how they can be improved. This curiosity propelled his entrepreneurial journey.
Throughout his career, he has applied his expertise in various industries, focusing on driving growth and continuous improvement. As the Project Director at Cogent Analytics, he brings strategic operational leadership to client companies, fostering a culture of empathy and collaborative problem-solving. His approach has notably enhanced organizational culture, boosted employee satisfaction, decreased turnover, and significantly improved profitability for clients.
His career is distinguished by a steadfast commitment to identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities, leveraging data and analytics to enhance profitability, and executing strategic plans with precision. His background features prominent roles, including Chief Operating Officer for Charlotte Vitamins and Health and Cusick Community Management, where he implemented critical process improvements and expanded market presence.
A few significant accomplishments in Brian’s career journey stand out, including leading a business development project that escalated sales from $65,000 to $2.7 million annually. He also established a home repair and construction business, which achieved a revenue milestone of $3.0 million within just 24 months and founded a financial services consulting firm that thrived on building deep, trusted relationships.
He is a firm believer in the power of servant leadership. Guided by his Midwestern values, his goal is to assist others in realizing their personal ‘why’ and achieving their fullest potential. Through his role at Cogent Analytics, he is dedicated to helping real businesses tackle real challenges with genuine, impactful solutions, not just leading but empowering and transforming.
On a personal note, he balances his professional life with a love for Jesus, family, and the outdoors. He is married with three grown children and is an avid golfer, with one gratifying one hole-in-one. He enjoys camping and backpacking and other activities that allow him to recharge and give praise to God.
