It has been a pleasure working with Cogent Analytics over the past nine weeks on our project. We were at a crossroad in our business at the time of our initial visit with Cogent. Our business had gone through three years of difficult times, both internal and external forces contributing to this, and we had to make a decision to either close up shop or bring Cogent in and help us reorganize our business.
Needless to say, we chose the latter and brought Cogent in. I am very thankful that we did! The process began with Merlin doing a comprehensive analysis of our business and his findings were eye opening and extremely humbling to say the least. Merlin summarized his findings and we agreed to continue they journey.
Jim Merkle was assigned to our project as our project director. On day one, Jim had our plan mapped out, presented it to us and outlined in detail the path going forward. Our plan was very extensive and Jim was a pleasure to work with.
Some of the items in our plan consisted of establishing a 12 week cash management system, modifying our financial reporting system and chart of accounts, performing a break even analysis, determining our indirect and direct overhead costs, developing a bid check pricing strategy program, establishing a new organizational structure with performance based job descriptions, developed a 3 year financial plan, created a budget, revised our credit and collections procedures, created a new operations manual and revised our employee handbook.
I am confident that the new programs that Jim has developed for us will help us engineer profits on an annual basis instead of hoping for a profit. I would absolutely recommend Cogent to any business that needs help. Thank you, Cogent!
