I wanted to take a moment to communicate some thoughts regarding the engagement between Cogent Analytics (CA) and CJC. Our company is in a pivotal place in its lifecycle where my partner and I have needed to be focused on running the business but was faced with the realities of day- to-day management to keep up with demand for our services. We consistently met and discussed actions that we needed to take and key hires that needed to be made but effective actions proved to be difficult to manage without devoting our full attention to them. We had made some key hires during the year, but still were not moving the needle enough towards change. It is because of this that we decided to investigate CA services after having been called on by your sales team. We engaged reluctantly considering that we felt like we had a fair sense of what to do, but lacked the full time engagement to execute.
That said, John came on board with our engagement and has been a delight to work with. I have been able to crystallize our needs having the benefit of hind sight: a) we needed someone to make it their day’s mission to solely focus on the organization and process changes internally, b) fresh perspective from someone with experience with similar companies solving similar problems and c) a symbolic change agent to drive buy-in and adoption. In John we got all of these things. He has brought a calming hand to help usher in change in a manner that has conveyed credibility to our management team and all personnel.
