Glen Houlihan began working at Cogent Analytics with an aim to be the best Project Director possible. Glen began his career working in operations for defense electronics. He subsequently moved into project management and worked for several small companies where he assumed the role of “change agent.” Glen has a keen ability to identify and implement needed improvements. Realizing the importance of affecting change, he soon began to work as an independent business consultant. For more than twenty years, he helped entrepreneurs obtain small business loans and then supported them in the process of establishing and effectively running their businesses. He also helped many of those owners when the time came to sell their companies, thus honing his skills in small business lending, buying, and selling. His goal was the same for each of his clients…to better the way of life for the entrepreneurs he guided.
His incredible work ethic has never waivered. Raised by high-school educated parents, he was the first member of his extended family to graduate from college. As such, he takes nothing for granted. Working hard was his only option. His parents instilled in him the philosophy that whatever you do, wherever you work, and whomever you work for, work as if it was your business. It’s that simple. For Glen, there is no other way. His work ethic did not go unnoticed as he was recognized by three different companies as the “hardest working employee.”
Glen now notes that, for the first time in his career, he is not working because he needs the money. He works because Cogent Analytics provides him with the opportunity to invoke meaningful change for small businesses and their owners. His purpose each day is to support his clients. Outside of business hours, you may find him applying the same work ethic and drive on the golf course.
